v> Macau Golf Masters 2024: A Global Showcase of Inclusive Golf

Macau, September 26-27, 2024 – The Macau Golf Masters has become a beacon of inclusive sports,  with aspirations to be the leading global golf tournament for athletes with disabilities. Since 2012,  the event has been hosted at the prestigious Macau International Golf course, where it has grown  into a pioneering competition that embraces golfers from across the disability spectrum. Under the leadership of the Charity Association of Macau Business Readers, the tournament has  attracted top talent golfers from 21 countries, including the world's best 14 players with intellectual  disabilities. For the first time, these athletes will compete head-to-head, making the 2024 edition  historic and raising the bar for adaptive sports. The event is proudly supported by Melco Resorts & Entertainment as the title sponsor of the World  League and Challenger League competitions, while MGM Macau serves as the main sponsor of the  Contender League. Aristocrat, Light & Wonder, Coca Cola, and Lord Stow also lend significant  support, ensuring the tournament's success. With 60 invited participants, this year’s Macau Golf Masters will be the largest ever, celebrating the  perseverance, talent, and sportsmanship of golfers with disabilities on a global stage.

The inaugural tournament in 2012 brought together eight nations from the East Asian and Asian Pacific regions.  This event had been anointed the PGA of Golf for People with Intellectual Disabilities! Bringing together  Macau’s society to compete and interact with intellectually disabled athletes from all over the world is key to  the ultimate objective of connecting people through sport. Over the years this tournament became a  testimonial all over the world and has been rated as the best tournament for people with intellectual  disabilities. It is the biggest of its kind since 2017 and welcomed more than 400 athletes with intellectual  disabilities from 36 countries to date.  

Today, the Macau Golf Masters is the world’s biggest golf tournament for people with intellectual disabilities.  In 2024 we will introduce the World League Final – a world championship format tournament of the world’s  top 14 players in 9 holes/ 18 holes/ 9 holes over 2 days. And of course we will see many more players from  around the world enjoying Macau’s first class hospitality and amazing golf with you - our dear local citizens  and friends. This event is endorsed and sanctioned by the Macau Professional Golf Association (MPGA), the  European Disabled Golf Association (EDGA) and recognized as an international event.
